ForRES - Forensic Reverse Engineering of Silicon chips

One of the biggest challenges facing European law enforcement agencies (LEAs) today, is the widespread use of digital, fully encrypted consumer devices. The use of encryption makes the lawful extraction of user data during any criminal investigation both challenging and time-consuming requiring specialist personnel and sophisticated, costly equipment. Fully invasive hardware analysis, in which the internals of integrated circuits (ICs) are examined for security faults that may be used to disrupt the chain of trust, are arguably the most promising, but also the most technologically demanding approach. ForRES aims to combine the collective knowledge and technological capabilities of European LEAs and science institutes to push the boundary of IC reverse engineering by improving the techniques for analysis of integrated circuits, facilitating European cooperation through a unified tool-set and a platform for sharing knowledge as well as researching possibly vulnerable circuits in electronic devices. Safe4RAIL-2 -CONNECTA-2: Final Dissemination Video

This video shows the impact and results from the Safe4RAIL-2 project which has examined ways of utilizing wireless (5G), interoperable, on-board communication as well as universal integration of the Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS). In collaboration with its complementary action project CONNECTA-2, Safe4RAIL-2 has developed railway demonstrators where next-generation architectures and components for TCMS will be integrated. To eliminate costly field testing, Safe4RAIL-2 has performed testing in a simulated environment. The results from Safe4RAIL-2 will define new train standards and pave the way for deterministic communications as well as secure and interoperable interconnections while increasing efficiency and safety of the TCMS. Safe4RAIL-2 - Status Update

We are halfway there - Phase 1 was completed successfully! Our research and innovation action project Safe4RAIL-2 (Safe architecture for Robust distributed Application Integration in roLling stock 2) will look at ways of utilizing wireless (5G), interoperable, on-board communication as well as universal integration of the Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS). In collaboration with its complementary action project CONNECTA-2 (826098), Safe4RAIL-2 aims to develop railway demonstrators where next-generation architectures and components for TCMS will be integrated. Another aspect of the project is to perform testing of the TCMS functions in a simulated environment. These test methods alleviate field-testing which would be costly to undertake. The results from Safe4RAIL-2 will define new train standards and pave the way for deterministic communications as well as secure and interoperable interconnections while increasing efficiency and safety of the TCMS. PrECISE H2020 Project: Personalized Treatments for Prostate Cancer

In this episode, we talk to María Rodríguez Martínez about the completion of the PrECISE project. A team of doctors and scientists recently finished a project aimed at collecting data from multiple sources and then using it to inform clinicians about the best treatment options for their patients suffering with prostate cancer.
